For female students in Pakistan, joining the Armed Forces is a dream of immense pride and honor. While females do not serve in regular infantry combat roles, the Pakistan Army offers a highly prestigious path for women to serve as Commissioned Officers in the medical field.
If you want to know how females can join the Pak Army after Matric or FSc, the answer is AFNS. Upon successful completion of your training, you are awarded the rank of Lieutenant (BPS-17), a monthly stipend of over Rs. 60,000 during training, and free medical and accommodation facilities for life.
Note: If you are a graduate holding a 16-year degree (BS/Masters) in IT, Engineering, or Management, you can join directly as a Captain. Read our complete Lady Cadet Course (LCC) 2026 Guide or check out our master guide on How to Join the Pakistan Army in 2026.

AFNS Test Preparation & Syllabus 2026
Thousands of girls apply, but only those who understand the AFNS test preparation syllabus clear the initial stage. The test is computerized and divided into two phases:
1. Initial Intelligence Test
- Verbal Intelligence: Number series, word associations, and coding/decoding.
- Non-Verbal Intelligence: Pattern recognition and shape sequences.
- Note: You must pass this section to unlock the Academic Test on your computer screen.
2. Academic Test (FSc Level)
- Syllabus: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and General Knowledge (Pakistan & Islamic History).
- Federal vs. Provincial Boards: Many students ask if they should study Federal board books. The test is generalized. If you have a strong grip on your core Punjab, Sindh, or KPK FSc Biology and Chemistry textbooks, you will easily clear the MCQs.
3. Medical and Personality Test
Candidates who clear the written test undergo a basic medical checkup. Later, shortlisted candidates are called for an interview at the GHQ Selection Board. This includes a unique Personality Test designed to assess your empathy, stress management, leadership qualities, and suitability for the nursing profession.
