Why Exact Age Matters for Govt Jobs in Pakistan
Federal and Provincial testing agencies in Pakistan (such as FPSC, PPSC, SPSC, and KPSC) have extremely strict age limits. Your age is always calculated based on the closing date of the advertisement, not the date you submit your application or the date of the test.
General Age Relaxation Rules
- Federal (FPSC): A general 5-year age relaxation is universally applied to the upper age limit for most civilian posts.
- Provincial (PPSC): The Punjab government frequently updates age relaxation rules. Currently, a 5-year relaxation for men and an 8-year relaxation for women is standard, but always read the specific job advertisement.
- Armed Forces / Government Servants: Additional relaxations apply if you are a released armed forces personnel or a continuous government employee with at least 2 years of service.
