Your exact age is calculated up to the date of induction (usually November 1 for the fall term or May 1 for the spring term), not the date you submit your application.

Passing the initial written intelligence test at the Army Selection and Recruitment Center (AS&RC) is immediately followed by a strict physical fitness test. You must clear all of the following to qualify for the ISSB interview:

- Push-ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes.
- Sit-ups: 20 repetitions in 2 minutes.
- Chin-ups: 3 repetitions in 2 minutes.
- Ditch Crossing: 7.4 feet x 7.4 feet with a depth of 4 feet.
