The Short Service Commission (SSC) is the most prestigious direct-entry gateway for highly educated professionals to join the Pakistan Navy as Commissioned Officers. Unlike cadet entries designed for intermediate students, the SSC is exclusively tailored for university graduates holding a minimum of 16 years of education.
Upon successful induction, candidates are granted immediate officer ranks such as Acting Sub-Lieutenant (Ag S/Lt) or Acting Surgeon Lieutenant Commander, depending on their specialization and prior professional experience.

1. Information Technology (IT) & Cyber Security Branch
In the era of digital warfare, the modern naval fleet relies on secure network architecture, data sciences, and impenetrable cyber defense. This branch represents one of the highest-demand sectors and is actively open to both male and female candidates. - Required Education: Minimum 16 years of education (BS or MS). Accepted disciplines include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, and Data Sciences.
- Merit Standard: A minimum of 2.5 CGPA or equivalent is strictly required. The Navy shows a strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in AI, Digital Forensics, Network Security, Android/iOS Application Development, and robust programming skills.
- Age Limit: 22 to 27 Years.
2. Operations, Marines & Aviation (Important FSc Prerequisites)

- Operations: Open to males holding a BBA, BSc, or BS HRM (16 years) with at least a 2.5 CGPA. Crucial Prerequisite: Your HSSC/FSc must have been completed with Physics & Maths (Min 60% marks).
- Marines SSG(N): Open to males with 16 years of education achieving at least a 2.25 CGPA.
- Aviation: Requires graduation (16 years) with Physics & Maths, maintaining a 2.5 CGPA. Prerequisite: HSSC/FSc Pre-Engineering with Min 65% aggregate. The conduct of a Flying Aptitude Test is a mandatory pre-requisite.

4. Medical Branch (GDMOs & Specialists)

- General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs): Open to male and female candidates holding an MBBS recognized by the PM&DC, complete with a one-year house job. The age limit is up to 30 years.
- Medical Specialists: Opportunities are vast, including roles for Cardiologists, Neurosurgeons, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, and General Surgeons. Candidates require higher postgraduate qualifications (such as FCPS Pak or equivalent). The age limit extends up to 40 or 42 years depending on the specific field.

5. Physical Standards & Selection Pipeline
To ensure only the highest caliber of officers are commissioned, candidates must clear the following physical and testing benchmarks:
- Height Requirement: Minimum 5 feet 4 inches for Males, and 5 feet 0 inches for Females.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): You must be in peak physical condition. The benchmark requirements include a strict 1 KM run in 8 minutes, alongside 10 push-ups (in 2 minutes), 10 sit-ups (in 2 minutes), and 2 chin-ups (in 2 minutes).
- E-Testing & ISSB: Candidates undergo computer-based Intelligence and Academic tests.
